Belize is a tropical paradise on the Central American mainlan nestled on the coast between Mexico's Southern Yucatan , Guatemala, and Honduras. This tiny (8,876 square miles) English speaking country ,is a stable, peaceful democracy. The population is small about 250,000 warm friendly people, a mixture of Creole, Garinagu, Maya, Mennonites and Mestizo.

History: Belize was colonized by the British in 1798 and became an independent nation within the British commonwealth in 1981. The country's name was changed from British Honduras to Belize in 1972. Belize is the only English speaking country in Central America.

Government: Belize operates under a Parliamentary Democracy.

Currency: The currency unit is the Belize dollar (Bz.$). The Belize dollar has been pegged to the U.S. dollar at a rate of approximately Bz.$2.00 to U.S.$1.00 since May 1976.

Climate: Belize has a subtropical climate with an average temperature of 85° F.

Electricity and Telecommunication: As in North America Belize uses 110 volt electricity. The telephone system is of international standards with direct dialing to North America and the world and direct linkages through AT&T and Sprint. High speed Internet is available.

Transportation/Airlines: Belize is served by the International carriers such as Taca Airlines, operating directly from Houston and Salvador; American Airlines operating daily from Miami; 3 flights a week from Dallas Fort Worth (Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday); Continental Airlines has 2 flights daily direct from Houston, and our newly added airlines U.S. Airways leaves directly from Charlotte 4 times a week (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday).
